Alementary Brewing has been open for just over two years now, and have been consistently pumping out clean beers since day one. They are located right here in our beautiful state of New Jersey right over in Hackensack! Alementary boasts a big, open tasting room, with plenty of table space for seating. There is so much room for activities here! In fact, there is so much room, that on Sunday’s they have a yoga class go on right in the tasting room. Your entry fee for yoga will also get you a pint when you’re done with your stretching session.
Behind the beautiful wood panel bar are two LCD screens on the wall displaying the current draft pourings. If you walk down just passed the bar, you can look through a big glass door and see all the nice shiny kettles in their brew house. That is if you’re into that sort of thing of course. And for those of you wondering…YES, they allow dogs in their tasting room! Thank goodness! We need more dog friendly places like this. Everything is so much better when a dog is present. Even something as good as drinking a delicious beer is better when you’re by a (cool) dog.
The second you start to pour this beer you’re immediately hit with notes of grapefruit juice, pine, and candied orange peels. It boasts a gorgeous light, hazy gold body, with an easy mouthfeel. Flavors of grass, onion, grapefruit, and bitter citrus rind all attack your taste buds at once in perfect harmony. There is a mellow bitterness towards the back end which leads into the dry finish. This beer is jam packed with flavor, but it is not over bearing what so ever.
Beer Buyer Overall Rating: 4 out of 5 pints!
