Blue Moon Rounder Belgian-Style Pale Ale

Blue Moon Rounder Pale AleSince founded in 1995 with their flagship Belgian White, Blue Moon has been crafting new and different award winning beers. Rounder is the latest edition of the Expressionist Collection and is an interpretation of a Belgian Style Pale Ale.

Rounder pours a crystal clear amber color with a deep copper hue. The head is milky white, surprisingly thin, dissipates almost immediately and barely laces when the glass is swirled.

The nose is very well rounded with all the beer’s elements detectable. Sweet caramel and malt notes are intertwined with a mild bready note. The malts and yeast are balanced by a light citrus hop and a faint floral aroma.

The flavors echo the bouquet fairly well. On the entry nutty and malty flavors spreads across the palate. Amidst the nut notes a hint of bread emerges and then gives way to a spicy citrus note on the mid palate. The smooth finish lingers with a slightly bitter hop note that is accentuated by a floral underpinning. Like many of the brewery’s beers there are identifiable floral, citrus and coriander notes.

Rounder is a “simply complex” beer. There are a lot of flavors and elements, but they all fit so well together that the beer seems simple. For fans of Blue Moon Belgian style beers the Rounder is a must try! Bottle King Beer Buyer Rating

  1. I think it’s pretty good. It’s a far cry better than the awful Spring ale (Valencia Grove Amber Ale). It’s not going to blow anyone’s taste buds away, but for what it is, it isn’t bad. I just wish that Blue Moon had a bottled beer over 6%.
